11 million people make their living from coffee in Indonesia, but arabica accounts for only 10% of the coffee grown (robusta 90%); 90% of the plantations lie south of the Equator. Coffee is the 3rd agricultural export product after timber and rubber. Arabica was introduced by the Dutch in the middle of the 17th century in Java; it is grown in volcanic areas, at altitude.
These arabicas are exceptional; their aromas can seem heavy and very bold, aromatic, for lovers of strong coffee.
