“Urithi” means “heritage” in Swahili. Heritage, because J.J. Looze coffees are a family affair, and when the 4th generation creates its very first blend at the age of 16, it can only be called heritage!
And Swahili: the language spoken in Kivu, in the south-east of Congo (DRC), where the company has its roots in the 1950s, the same language that lulled the childhood of the second generation. In short, a story of generations, of transmission, and… of urithi!
