This arabica is grown at between 600 and 1,300 metres, south of the Cordillera Central in the Barahona region, in the south-west of the country. These coffees can be considered the best in the country and are similar to Jamaican coffees. It rains all year round, and the winds and ocean currents allow the cherries to develop slowly to produce a bean of great quality. Hand-picked, wet-processed, sun-dried, and grown in the shade of avocado, orange, banana, guava and macadamia trees; harvested from August to February.
